Maine's Death with Dignity Act, April 17
with Valerie Lovelace
Val Lovelace founded the 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization Maine Death with Dignity and serves as its executive director. She spearheaded a grassroots campaign from 2014 to 2019 to pass Maine's aid-in-dying statute, the Maine Death with Dignity Act.
Maine's compassionate end-of-life care option is the subject of a great deal of confusion and false information. Although Maine's Death with Dignity Act has been in place since September 2019, many patients and medical personnel are still unaware of it. Learn how to talk about it with your doctor, how to comply with the law, or how to help a family member who might qualify.

Learn to Ride a Bike
with Erik DaSilva
If you never learned to ride a bike, you're not alone! We will guide you through simple steps to help you get rolling and build your confidence on two wheels.
This class is open to teenagers and adults who haven't learned to ride a bike before. Bring a bike to learn on, one where the seat can be set low enough to sit with both heels flat on the ground and knees slightly bent. We will focus on balancing, pedaling, and control.
A parent or guardian must accompany students 13-16 years. Rain date will be Saturday May 17. Donations are welcome to the Bicycle Coalition of Maine by cash, or check at class, or via their website at www.bikemaine.org/donate
