Flexibility, Balance, and Toning for the Aging Body LEVEL TWO
with Mary Chouinard
This class focuses on slow, methodical movement sequences and coordinated breathing to ease the body into greater strength, improved balance, and increased circulation and flexibility. It is designed to encourage you through your individual restrictions to exercise and give you the techniques to improve your physical conditioning while minimizing pain. For those ready for the slightly more demanding and thorough exercise class. Optional, but helpful items: hand weights of a size that you are comfortable with (between one and eight pounds), yoga blocks, a flat pillow.
Prerequisite for level II: Level I or some experience with exercise (Yoga, recreational sports, aerobics, weight training, calisthenics, dance, etc.)
Prerequisites: Doctors clearance to exercise; must sign liability waiver.
Participants must: wear exercise clothing that will allow freedom of movement but that will stay in place when your body is inverted (in upside-down positions), bring a yoga mat, small towel, water to drink, and have bare feet (if you are REALLY uncomfortable with that, wear flexible shoes that have non-slip bottoms)
