The Tech Spot is a School and Community Project that offers technology advice and tutoring to adults from throughout our school district.
Examples of possible help sessions include general computer operation, conducting web searches, using Facebook and other social media programs, and operating Smart phones, iPads, Tablets, and PCs. Assistance with some software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) is available as well.

Introduction to Game Design

This is an online, asynchronous class.
Games are increasingly recognized as a tool that can serve many business purposes beyond entertainment. This course provides a general introduction to what goes into the design and development of both video and analog games, with a particular focus on the use of games outside of consumer entertainment. By completing this course, you can take the first steps into understanding game design and how it can be applied in your field.
Basic Accounting Principles and Quickbooks Online, February

During these three sessions, you will learn basic accounting principles and how to apply them to setting up QuickBooks online for a small business or organization. The design of the course is that you'll attend the class and also do 2-3 hours of work between sessions which greatly enhances your learning. For this workshop, you have the option to receive a yearlong subscription to QB online. Upon registration, the survey provided will provide information about this opportunity.

Microsoft Excel - Basics
with Val Landry
During this workshop, you will learn how to navigate a simple Excel worksheet, enter data in a worksheet, use basic math functions, do basic formatting, how to replicate data, use built-in functions and work with columns and rows. The design of the course is that you'll attend the class and also do 2-3 hours of work between sessions which greatly enhances your learning. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey included in your automated receipt so the instructor can tailor the course to meet your needs. You will want to have Microsoft Excel on your computer for this workshop and many people find it helpful to have two monitors though it is certainly not necessary to benefit from the sessions. There are two ways to accomplish this: 1) attach an external screen to your computer (contact our program if you need technical assistance with that); 2) use two computers (one for Excel and the other for the ZOOM meeting.

Intermediate Programming with Python

Note: This class is for individuals 18 and older.
Join experienced Python instructor Dean Greer as he takes you beyond the basics of Python. In this next phase, you’ll build upon the fundamentals with topics like data structures, intermediate control structures, how to practice coding effectively, and module importation.
Problem solving using previously learned fundamentals will be emphasized in addition to further instruction material. The typical prerequisite for this course is “Programming Basics Using Python,” but those with adequate experience, should feel free to sign up. Students will need either a PC or Mac desktop or laptop computer (no Chrome Books) and a reliable internet connection.
